Tilton not a fan of Jessica as Lucy. (Nor are we!)
TILTON WEIGHS IN ON DALLAS CASTING
23 March 2006
Former Dallas star Charlene Tilton has hit out at rumours Jessica Simpson is being courted to play sexy troublemaker Lucy Ewing in the big screen version of the soap.
Tilton, who played the blonde man-eater in the hit 1980s show, feels Simpson is too old to play the role she believes would suit Lindsay Lohan perfectly.
The feature film adaptation is set to hit cinemas in the next two years, but the youngest member of the Ewing clan has yet to be cast.
Hollywood stars rumoured to be considered for the plum part include Simpson, Lohan and US reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, who is reportedly dating Simpson's ex-husband Nick Lachey.
But Tilton has her sights fixed: "Jessica is beautiful but too old. I had just turned 17 when we started filming. It's more exciting if Lucy is doing all these things... out of high school. (Lindsay Lohan) is a great choice."

Yet more Casting news! This movie is going to be Big!
'Dallas' Sexy Lucy: Lindsay Lohan Or Jessica Simpson?by Mitch MarconiMar 19, 2006
Word it out that Lindsay Lohan is currently the fave to play the role of sexy long-haired little blonde, Lucy Ewing Cooper, in a movie version of 'Dallas', according to published reports, and it looks like she has the full endorsement of original actress Charlene Tilton in her bid.
Charlene Tilton, 47, who made the role famous, is quoted as saying: "They are thinking of casting Lindsay Lohan as Lucy and I'm a fan of hers. I think it is a great choice."
But rumors are also running hot in favor of a Jessica Simpson casting, especially appealing because of her buxom body, long blonde hair, and Texas accent. Her native roots in Texas would make her more of a natural for the role, it would seem, but no decisions have been announced as finalized yet.
In what is already being touted as a blockbuster idea, a remake of the classic 80s soap about a rich oil family and their pecadillos, 'Dallas' could be a real coupe for everyone involved. Director Robert Zemeckis claims Hollywood's biggest stars are desperate to win roles in the remake of the show, which aired from 1978 to 1991.

SAY NO TO PARIS AND JESSICA!!!
The following was on todays TVGUIDE on-line website
J.LO DOES DALLAS?: That big-screen version of Dallas is inching closer to reality. Variety reports that the cast is starting to fill out — particularly in the backside, one might say, with Jennifer Lopez being offered the role of Sue Ellen Ewing (played by Linda Gray on the long-running CBS serial). Luke Wilson is in talks to play Bobby, and Shirley MacLaine is being eyed for Miss Ellie, while the most plum part, J.R. himself, is still earmarked for John Travolta (production on Dallas would begin in October, after he's done filming Hairspray). You can practically hear Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson catfighting over the role of Lucy.
This writer begs the producers to say NO to either of these two (oh I cannot bring myself to say actress's) Maybe Reese Witherspoon, or someone who not take this project or Lucy to such a low point!
